Qatar Rail announces temporary closure of Al Tarfa Road

Qatar Rail announces the temporary closing of Al Tarfa Road from 23rd April, 2016 to 7th May 2016 between the hours of 12am – 6am due to works related to the Doha Metro Red Line project.

Qatar Rail would like to take this opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience the public may experience due to the road closure and diversion. In the meantime, and in line with the company’s core principle to “Keep Doha Moving”, an alternative route will be provided on Al-Jamiaa Street, Jelaiah Street, and Arab League Street.

Additionally, the necessary notices will be delivered to the public through newspapers and social media platforms as well as Qatar Rail website.

As an integral part of the Qatar Rail Development Program (QRDP), the Doha Metro network, consisting of 4 lines, will cover the Greater Doha area and will include connections to town centers and vital commercial and residential areas throughout the city. In central Doha, the Metro will be underground, whilst at the outskirts; it will mainly be at ground level or above the ground.

The first phase of the project, involving three lines, is due to operate in 2019/20. More info
